WASC Report

Modesto High School is currently undergoing an in-depth self study of all of its programs under the supervision of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).  WASC works in collaboration with the California Department of Education (CDE) to ensure that all schools follow state curriculum guidelines and teach the state standards using state-adopted textbooks and materials.  The purpose of this WASC/CDE Self Study Report is make sure that the staff at MHS is using the best instructional strategies and providing academic support for all students to be successful.

By evaluating what programs and practices currently exist and what needs to be improved in relation to student learning and the school’s educational programs, MHS can better provide educational opportunities and learning experiences to prepare all students for graduation.

This process includes input from MHS staff, students, parents, and community members who will evaluate how student success is met through Modesto High School’s student learning goals now revised and referred to as “Graduate Profile”.  The graduate profile, our site instructional norms, and academic standards focus on what all students should know and be able to do by graduation.

Together we can discuss schoolwide strengths and needs to assist us in our efforts to improve academic achievement for all students at Modesto High School.
